GARDEN DESIGN

Basic garden design culminates in the production of the concept plan which includes sufficient information for one to be able to understand the design intent, as described below in Stage I. Stages II and III will only be required if design implementation is put out to tender.

Stage I - Design

Initial Consultation

  • Site inspection and assessment
  • Brief discussion of client's requirements
  • Provision of rough estimate for stage 1

Design Proposals

  • Confirmation of estimate and of what was agreed at initial consultation.
  • Site Survey (a full topographic survey may be required for larger or sloping sites)
  • Photographic survey

Concept Plan

  • Research and development
  • Consulting with client as and when required
  • Extra site visits where necessary
  • Production of plans/sketches to show design intent
  • Dealing with statutory bodies and applications

Stage II – Preparation for construction

Design detail (enables tendering)

  • Setting out plan

Production Information

  • Specialist details
  • Specifications
  • Invitations to tender
  • Tender report

Stage III - Construction

  • Preparation of contract documents
  • Site inspections and monitoring of construction work
  • Dealing with stage payments
  • Snagging

DESIGN & BUILD

The garden is constructed by the designer's own workforce with the result that some of the preceding operations are not required.


POSTAL SERVICE

Involves the completion of a detailed questionnaire with provision of photographs/video, liaising by telephone, post or e-mail.


CONSULTANCY

Involves site visit with-on-the-spot advice.


FINANCE

Available upon request.
